Summer of Firsts

So this summer is the summer I get to do all sorts of brand new things. We are living in Indianapolis for the summer while Chris works with Dr. Shane Mangus. So far, Chris has gone organ harvesting, some kidney research, and he's watched some really cool liver and trecheaoscopies (sorry on the spelling).

Some of our other firsts include....

My first roofing job! (Thanks Glynn!)

My first bird feeder! (Thanks again Glynn... and Maren)

While we were cleaning up the shingles, Maren, Joyce and I kept finding bird nests and Maren was pretty excited. So we decided to make a bird feeder for all of the robins. This is what the final product looked like!

My first water heater leak...

I don't have a picture but I can tell you that we heated water up on the stove and then poured it on us in order to take a shower! YIKES! I am very grateful now for warm water!

My first time being hundreds of miles away from family...

We drove 21 hours from Lovell to Indianapolis, which means over 1,200 miles!

As our summer progresses, I will keep updating our adventures! Everyone have fun!

  1. Awesome on all the firsts! The bird feeder looks cute! Sorry about the water heater breaking, that would have been an aweful shower!

OH! I am doing the one thing I swore not to do (changing my major)!!! I will be visiting with my counselor on Monday to see what I can do in the field of Animal Rights and such.
